CALATA CORPORATION is committed to revolutionizing the conduct of agricultural enterprise in the country.

In 2012, CALATA CORPORATION entered into a Php 1.6 billion contract with Argentinian corn producer Siembra Directa Corporation. The partnership targets to boost corn production with state-of-the-art machines, that would facilitate planting and harvesting of corn, while minimizing its impact on the land. The first trial of this new methodology in corn production has been inaugurated in a 300-hectare farm Echague, Isabela. It is dubbed as the “first fully mechanized corn farm in the country.”

This year, the company has also ventured in on building broiler facilities in Mindanao. It hopes to produce a complete cycle of chicken production for San Miguel Corporation’s Magonlia unit. This is in addition to the company’s existing hog raising facilities in Isabela, which in turn supplies the demands of Monterey Farms. Apart from their significant economic contributions, these facilities aim ultimately at generating jobs - and thereby creating opportunities - for our Filipino people in the countryside.
